Greenbuild International Conference and Expo Comes to Georgia in 2019

Boasting the theme "A New Living Standard," the convention dedicated to green and sustainable building practices comes to the Georgia World Congress Center and Mercedes-Benz Stadium - an apt setting, as the stadium is the only in the United States to be LEED Platinum Certified. The event will take place from Tuesday, November 19 to Friday, November 22 and touch on topics such as sustainable building materials, circular product lifecycle, community health, systems resiliency, waste reduction, micro-habitat ecosystems, and more.

A variety of passes are available for attendees, including single day and multi-day passes. Students can volunteer 8-hours of their time to receive a 3-day pass.

Green Communities Spotlight
Cherokee County's Administration and Conference Center located in Canton, Georgia received LEED Silver Certification in 2010. The three-story building holds county staff offices, as well as an auditorium and meeting rooms for rent with catering and audio-visual services. While the Green Communities Program focuses on LEED certification for this measure, other measures allow for similar green building certifications, such as EarthCraft and GreenGlobe certifications.
